Qujie town in Zhanjiang's Xuwen county is famous for "the Sea of Pineapples", a term used in reference to its vast pineapple plantations.
Qujie's pineapples are one of the most famous fruits in Guangdong province.
The pineapple plantations cover a total area of 250,000 mu (16,700 hectares), making Qujie the largest producer of pineapples in China. Its annual output accounts for one third of the country's total.
