A painting and calligraphy exhibition by famous Chinese artist Mo Gebo opened in Zhanjiang on Aug 1.

The opening day of the exhibition that will last until Aug 18 attracted nearly one thousand visitors.

Mo was born in Zhanjiang's Leizhou county and graduated from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.

He has been dedicated to painting and calligraphy for more than 40 years, creating masterpieces in traditional Chinese painting, calligraphy and poems.

Mo's works are characterized by a bold and unconstrained style. He has absorbed many ancient elements into his works, but also added something new and leading ideas to them.
