Thousands of cyclists ride for Provincial Games in Zhanjiang

More than 2,000 cyclists from China and abroad participated in a public cause cycling activity in Zhanjiang on June 7. The activity was organized as part of the welcome events in the run up to the 14th Guangdong Provincial Games.
Cyclists started from Jinshawan Square in Chikan district and reached the finish point in Xuwen Culture Square in Xuwen county in a 150 kilometer-long route. More than 1,800 participants completed the full ride.
Many cyclists who came to Zhanjiang for the first time praised it as a beautiful costal city after riding through beautiful scenery along the journey.

Pan Jiangang, a cycling fan from Guangzhou, expressed his surprise at Zhanjiang's blue seas, green landscapes, fresh air and delicious seafood. "Zhanjiang is certainly worth visiting," he said.
A cyclist from the US said that Zhanjiang is a beautiful city with clean streets, blue sky and clear seas. She said she hopes to visit Zhanjiang in the future again.
Xiao Nan, general manager of doyouhike.net, one of the sponsors of the cycling activity, said that such large-scale cycling activity is first in kind in the western area of Guangdong province. Not only has it promoted Zhanjiang's tourism resources, but also provided a fitting welcome for the upcoming Guangdong Provincial Games.
