On March 16, 2015, Namibian President Pohamba presented at the ceremony of staged turning over on Omafo-Outapi Highway Project.
Omafo-Outapi Highway Project constructed by CGGC is located in Ohangwena, north Namibia and is parallel with the boundary line between Namibia and Angola. The work scope of the project with 36-month contract work duration is to rebuild a 98.25km long, dual two-lane asphalt road from original dirt road.
The Project will improve local traffic conditions of populous northern Namibia, create more jobs for local people, further strengthen economic and trade relations between Namibia and Angola, and play an active role in promoting Namibian economic and social development when completed. Pohamba expressed his gratitude to Chinese government and people for their support and help. He said this road is significant for Namibian government to expand national road grid.
