
The hydropower station consists of the left-bank and the right-bank underground power plants, which is installed respectively with 9 units with single-unit capacity of 770MW and a total installed capacity of 138,60MW. CGGC undertakes the installation task of the 9 units of the underground station on the left bank and the utility system.
Located in the great gorge at the boundary between Leibo County of Sichuan Province and Yongshan County of Yunnan Province, Xiluodu Hydropower Station is a key part of China’s “West-East Power Transmission” project and a hydropower station that is designed mainly for power generation as well as flood control, sediment storage and improvement of downstream navigation conditions, etc. The project started officially at the end of 2005 and was closured in 2007. With a total installed capacity of 13,860MW, it is next only to the Three Gorges Hydropower Station and Itaipu Power Station in South America.
CGGC has been playing an active part in the development and construction of clean energy at the upper reach of the Yangtze River and the Jinsha River, wholly or partially undertaking the construction of large-scale power stations including Gezhouba, the Three Gorges, Xiangjiaba and Xiluodu power stations, making hundreds of major technical breakthroughs and achieving record highs in the construction sector.
