The Fuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone in Fujian province announced that it would undertake more than 20 construction projects in the free trade zone (FTZ) this year with a total investment of 10 billion yuan ($1.6 billion), Fuzhou Daily reported on Jan 26.
Fuzhou FTZ, covering an area of 22 sq km, is expected to start operating in March 2015. An administrative body and work model have already been set up for further progress of the preparations for its completion and inauguration.
For the next stage, the management will concentrate on building itself into a center for cooperation in new and high technologies, marine industry, outsourcing and finance, and cultural and tourism exchange. It will also create a string of service platforms for streamlined and smooth administrative procedures, Fuzhou Daily added.
