Updated: 2014-04-03

Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province, plans to promote cross-Straits cultural and educational exchanges, according to the management committee of the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys on March 18, News.fznews.com reported.

The Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, a national key cultural relic protection site in Fuzhou, has 131 historical buildings. Nine of them are open to visitors. The Small Yellow Building in the site, with an area of 120,000 square meters, is known as a the "couplets museum". It houses hundreds of couplets and plaques from Emperor Qianlong's reign in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) to the Republic of China.

The Yellow Building is planned to be used as an education base between Taiwan and the Chinese mainland, where associations, youth organizations, universities, professors and experts are expected to hold 20-25 lectures or seminars on cross-Straits culture exchanges annually.
