Fujian sees increase in aquatic exports

The Fuzhou customs office, in Fujian province, reports exports of 522,000 tons of aquatic products (river and sea), in the first quarters of 2013, an increase of 11.1 percent year-on-year, valued at $3.77 billion, up 17.5 percent from the same period last year.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is the province’s largest export market, importing 226,000 tons of aquatic products. Meanwhile, exports to Taiwan amounted to 57,000 tons, for an increase of 18.9 percent year-on-year, and those to Hong Kong, 38,000 tons, up 33.6 percent from last year’s same period.
