A man in Fuzhou city, Fujian province created a farce on the morning of Nov 30 by faking a suicide in a desperate attempt to save his marriage.

The man, surnamed Chen, poured ketchup all over his body and lay down still at a hotel room in Jin’an District, after having a bicker with his wife during a divorce negotiation at 3 am.

The scene scared the attendants though, who called police for help.

Police found Chen was under the influence of alcohol and was in fact in a deep sleep.
