Research Report, No.301, 2020 (Total 6045) 2020-12-15

Abstract: The real-life scenery performance is a comprehensive cultural art, which is not only an important platform to increase box-office receipts from night shows, but also a popular art with the tourists. Since its introduction to China’s cultural market, this kind of performance has yielded sound economic and social benefits, playing as a new leverage to drive the development of regional tourism economy and promote regional cultural brands. However, after a decade of rapid development, some problems relating to this type of performance have loomed up such as the neglect of ecological protection, blindly copying each other’s performance between cultural troupes, limited items of performance with low cultural value, and insufficient cross-cultural integration. To propel the innovation-led development of real-life scenery performance in the new era, we need to pay attention to the ecological environment, fully consider the multiple effects of the performance, create high-quality performance with rich cultural values, enhance public art aesthetics with fine art works, promote the deep integration of the performance with related industries, and build open-oriented tourist attractions and cultural consumption circles leveraged by real-life scenery performance.
