Abstract: Since the 18th CPC National Congress, China has actively explored ways to realize the value of ecological products. The relevant institutional reforms have been constantly advanced, the policy system has been improved, and the distorted treatment of ecological products’ value has been significantly modified. But it needs to be noted that the realization of the value of ecological products still face many outstanding problems and challenges. For instance, some people do not have a clear understanding of the concept that “lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets” and some people from various sectors of life know little about the importance of the realization of ecological products. The efforts made by the government for the realization of ecological products are inadequate and the efficiency of the use of financial funds needs to be improved. The return on investment cycle of market-oriented ecological products for value realization usually takes too long a time, with a limited return rate and insufficient endogenous power. Some major systems and policy tools for realizing the value of ecological products, such as property rights management, compensated use, value evaluation and green certification need to be improved. Relevant theoretical research, policy support, personnel and capital input, basic data and other support and guarantee systems remain to be enhanced.
