The First Zhongshan District Tea Culture Festival was held in Dalian, Liaoning province on July 12, 2012.

The five-day tea culture festival included five forums and four contests, including a tea culture pageant. The city of Dalian has an annual tea consumption amount of one billion yuan ($156.7 million), and its average tea consumption tops other cities in northeast China. The city with seven "tea towns" held nearly ten tea-related fairs last year.
