Minister of Justice Fu Zhenghua held a training course on people’s mediation and invited the secretary of a county in Hainan province to give a lecture at the conference on Oct 31.

In the conference Fu praised people’s mediation work of Lingshui Li Autonomous County especially their strengthening of full-time people’s mediator team building.

Liu Zhenyu, vice-minister of Justice, said that it’s required to speed up building a full-time people’s mediator team and reinforce various forms of training in that area.

It’s also necessary to promote people’s mediation informatization construction and expedite development of a smart mobile mediation system, Liu said.

A total of 3,667 training classrooms were set up in judicial administrative departments at above the county level involving 79,000 people’s mediators participating in training courses.

Mai Zhengha, secretary of the county committee of Lingshui Li Autonomous County, introduced their practices in strengthening people’s mediation work including improving organizations for that purpose at county, town, village and village group levels and setting up troubleshooting, arbitration and grid management systems.

Mai also mentioned the need to improve the quality and level of people’s mediation work by preempting and mediating at the first sign of a dispute, normalizing mediation and troubleshooting and diversifying mediation channels.
