Safety and Technical Codes for Infant and Children Textile Products

Effective:June 1, 2016

It is China’s first compulsory national standard for infant and children textile products (children’s garments)

Specific provisions:

There should be no sharp edges.

Any accessories that infants might bite should have stretching resistance in conformity with standards.

Metallic sharp items may not be enclosed in packing material.

The permanent labels of close-fitting infant garments must not be placed to allow direct contact with skin.

Non-woven accessories should conform with relevant regulations and standards.

Regulations of Liaoning Province on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of Consumers

Effective: June 1, 2016

Auto-Industry:      

Vendors may not force consumers to buy auxiliary products and services

Catering Industry:   

Vendors may not charge for use of tableware.

Prices of food and services should be clearly indicated.

No minimum charge for consumers may be set.

Vendors may not charge for seats, disinfected tableware or wine corkage.

Hairdressing and Beauty Industry:

The commodities or services’ quantity, quality and prices should be in accordance with what has been agreed on before.

Regulations of Anhui Province on the Administration of Urban Bus Passenger Traffic

Effective: June 1, 2016

Highlights:

Urban bus passenger traffic enterprises and road transport administrations should establish a complaint reporting system. Enterprises will be fined 1,000 ($145) to 5,000 yuan if they fail to handle passengers’complaints.

Regulations of Sichuan Province on the Prevention and Control of Radiation Pollution

Effective: June 1, 2016

Highlights:

Consisting of eight chapters containing 58 provisions, the regulations at the local level explicitly stipulate the administrative system of radiation pollution prevention and control, and describe the responsibility of operating organizations and supervision departments.

Measures of Sichuan province for the administration of road passenger transportation (revised version)

Effective:June 1, 2016

Highlights:

Passenger transport

If a company’s vehicle is found speeding, overloaded, or being driven by a fatigued driver, the company must stop operation for a three-month rectification period. All passenger vehicles should be equipped with device to limit speed at less than 100 kilometers per hour.

Freight transport

Vehicles used for transport of dangerous goods should be equipped with GPS-enabled devices.

Maintenance

Charging standards for maintenance items should always be open to inquiry.

Implementation Plan of Zhejiang Province on the Reform of Administration System of Commercial Auto Insurance Rate

Effective: June 3, 2016

Highlight:

Property and casualty insurance companies in Zhejiang province (Ningbo City excluded) renewed the auto insurance system on June 3, 2016, marks official implementation of commercial auto insurance reform.

Insurance expenses are directly related to risk probability.

The scope of responsibility is somewhat extended.
