8-month-old baby in stable condition

On the evening of August 5, 17 patients from Ludian earthquake zone arrived in Kunming, Yunnan province, by train. The Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University received five patients, including an 8-month-old baby girl, the youngest among the 17 patients.

The baby girl’s mother and grandma were also injured by the earthquake and received treatment in the same hospital as the girl.

After receiving treatment in the department of pediatrics, the baby recovered and is now in a stable condition. With some patients from the earthquake zone suffering from psychological problems such as sorrow, fear and despair, the hospital arranged for experts to help them get over their mental traumas by providing psychological intervention treatment.
