1. Citizens should put up screen doors, windows and other simple mosquito and fly repellant facilities at tents and other temporary shelters. They should try to use mosquito nets or protection soaked in drugs or carrying long-acting drugs.

2. Citizens should spray long-lasting pyrethroid insecticides in temporary tents or residences as well as in the external environment within 5 to 10 meters in radius to avoid damage from mosquitos, flies, ticks, mites and flees.

3. Citizens should apply drugs on the wall or under the bed, and reduce indoor cleaning after drug implementation. Drugs need to be re-sprayed outdoors when it rains.

4. Citizens should spray insecticides twice a week on toilet walls and squatting pot boards below 1 meter. If there are a great number of flies, spray range can be expanded to cover all spaces.

5. Citizens should clean small ponds within 50 to 100 meters in radius of living spaces, and put waste ceramic vessels upside down, such as basins, bowls, pots and tanks.

6. Citizens should spray malathion, fenitrothion and temephos once a week to puddles or ponds that breed a large number of mosquitos and can’t be filled up temporarily. They should use 1-percent temephos granula every four weeks at clean water ponds or puddles, every one or two weeks at wastewater ponds or puddles, or during mosquito breeding time. Citizens should use microbial agents (BTI and Bs preparations) that can reduce the damage to other non-targeted aquatic insects as well as to the environment.
