Lagou.com, an online platform for job hunters in the Internet industry, held a press conference under the theme of "In the style of Internet." The company announced through social media that it would expand its online recruitment business to the financial industry.
Around 4,584 finance corporations published 7,282 job openings on Lagou.com when the press conference was held.
For Lagou.com, the expansion is not a small step, but a strategic leap. The expansion has been seen as the most important decision since the company's launch.
Ma Delong, founder and CEO of Lagou.com said that the website will become the first professional platform providing recruitment services in the financial industry. He said that the corporation is entering the financial industry because of increasing market demand. Internet finance has become the hottest segment in the Internet industry.
"We cannot afford enterprises in Internet finance to recruit technicians on Lagou.com and find talent through other platforms," said Ma.
Lagou.com has provided recruiting services to financial institutions such as Finance Department of JD.com, Alipay, and WeBank. WeBank published more than 100 job openings exclusively on Lagou.com in September, 2014.
Xu Dandan, president of Lagou.com, had four to five years of experience in finance before founding 3W Café and Lagou.com. He gained experience from both security and fund companies and has an overall knowledge of finance.
For him, it is easy to copy the company's success from the Internet to the financial world. And Xu believes Lagou.com is able to expand its professional services. Financial segmentation is just the first step. Lagou.com is also considering other industries such as bio-pharmaceuticals.
