Baidu Baike, a collaborative Web-based encyclopedia provided by Chinese search engine Baidu, recently declared a collaboration with the Beijing Calligraphers Association to establish a reliable and authoritative platform for its painting and calligraphy entries.

The entries edited by the Beijing Calligraphers Association will be labeled as "Authorized Entries". They will provide detailed biographies of the artists and the tailored webpages will be designed to best display their artwork.

About 1,142 entries have already been edited, but the planning board intends to add more in the next two years. In the meantime, Baidu Baike also plans to open a channel for sharing the information and artwork collected through this collaboration.

Characterized by the open sharing of information, Baidu Baike has previously worked with expert academicians from the nation's top three hospitals, creating over 7,000 entries of authoritative medical information.
