The 2012 Annual Haidian Science Park post-doctoral conference was hosted at the Yongyou Software Park on May 8. Many leaders attended the meeting from the National Human Resource and Social Security Department, National Post-doctoral Scientific Foundation, Beijing Human Resource and Social Security Department, and the Haidian Science Park Administrative Committee. Several specialists, experts and person in charge (PIC) from both the Haidian Science Park post-doctoral sub-workstation, and post-doctoral innovation practice base were also present.

The person in charge of the Haidian Science Park Administrative Committee summarized the previous year's working situation. The deployment of a tactical plan for the following year based on the summary was also discussed. The PIC emphasized it is beyond doubt that all the post-doctoral research made great contributions to the achievements today, in order to help the implementation of the Twelfth Five Year plan. All the post-doctorates from different workstations were strongly encouraged to apply their knowledge in facilitating workstation scouts for talents and strategically maintaining the current human resources.

During the conference, the leaders officially granted a license for all new post-doctoral workstations, as in the following discussion part, the post-doctorates expressed that the annual conference not only provided a stage for them to get together but also a place to meet people who are new to the field.

So far there are already 48 post-doctoral workstations in the Haidian Science Park with a total amount of 147 post-doctorates with 58 of those currently remaining at their jobs in the park. Roughly 50% of those remaining at their jobs chose to stay in the Haidian area in a variety of companies including in areas associated with electronic information, biomedical, new source of material and resource, energy savings, environment protection, modern agriculture and more.
