International students’ forum held in Jilin
The Perceive China -- Study in China International Graduate Forum, hosted by the China Scholarship Council and organized by Jilin University, was held at the university in Changchun, capital of Northeast China’s Jilin province on Nov 14.
Some 190 international students from 52 countries participated in the event. They are currently studying at Jilin University, Northeast Normal University, Changchun University of Science and Technology, Changchun University, Jilin Agricultural University, and Yanbian University.
Professors Wang Li and Yan Zhen from the school of public diplomacy at Jilin University delivered speeches at the forum. Professor Wang explored the significance of education on the development of culture, science and technology and the economy, sharing the meaning and experience of international students’ education in China.
Professor Yan shared his opinions on China’s status within international academia.
In addition, a total of 22 student representatives from 16 countries made speeches at the forum. Topics included the influence of the Belt and Road Initiative in the world international students’ learning and student life in China.
The event provided an exchange platform for international students in Jilin and also for Jilin universities to share their experiences in educating and cultivating international students, organizers said.
