Jilin’s first hydrogen cell bus rolls off production line
Northeast China’s Jilin province’s first hydrogen cell bus – produced by Yanbian Guotai New Energy Vehicles Co Ltd – rolled off the production line in Yanji, in Yanbian Korean autonomous prefecture on Sept 28.
Officials said this development would help the poverty situation in the region.
Last year Yanji and Ningbo in East China’s Zhejiang province joined hands, with the aim of helping reduce poverty in Yanji.
Meanwhile, Yanbian Guotai New Energy Vehicles Co Ltd and Ningbo Shanshan Corporation jointly launched a new energy vehicle project, agreeing to produce 10,000 new energy vehicles.
The project received great support from Jilin government and Zhejiang government.
Officials said that Yanbian Guotai New Energy Vehicles made breakthroughs in vehicle control technology in the alpine region and hydrogen fuel cell integration technology after more than a year of work.
So far, the first batch of 12 new energy vehicles has rolled off the production line, of which four are hydrogen cell buses and eight are pure electric buses.
Addressing the ceremony, Jin Shouhao, governor of Yanbian, said that the new energy vehicle project has promoted development of the sector in Yanbian, and deepened cooperation between Yanbian and Ningbo.
The project has also driven the local economy and helped poverty alleviation in Yanbian and the prefecture will improve its business environment to attract more investment, Jin said.
Qiu Dongyao, mayor of Ningbo urged Jilin province, Yanbian and Yanji to continue to give support to the new energy vehicle project – and added his hoped Ningbo would continue to help local development in Yanbian.
