Being a major agricultural province in China, Jilin province is committed to comprehensively revitalizing its rural areas in respect to agriculture, livelihoods and urbanization.

A conference focused on pushing forward revitalization of rural areas was held on Feb 22 in Changchun, capital of Jilin province.

Party Secretary Bayin Chaolu, Governor Jing Junhai and Provincial CPPCC Chairman Jiang Zelin attended.

It was decided at the meeting to make rural development a priority and create a rural-urban integrated module to realize poverty alleviation and at the same time build green villages.

The province's goals in agriculture modernization were also described at the conference.

The Jilin government aims to complete modern village construction by 2050.

The government will create prosperous rural areas by developing thriving businesses, pleasant living environments, social etiquette and civility, and effective governance.
