Yang Sisi, a paper artist in Changchun, Jilin province, has created a series of wedding dresses and costumes from waste wallpaper, Chinese art paper, and ticker tapes, and has recently opened a special fashion show in Changchun.

Five opera costumes, which took Yang 15 days to make, attracted attendees' eyes during the show. The costumes are in bright and rich colors and well-designed, and look just like costumes made of cloth.

When talking about her paper art passion, Yang said she had not learned anything about art before but she was enlightened during an activity held by her company about reusing waste materials to create crafts 15 years ago.

She made her first paper dress for the activity in four hours and since then, she fell in love with this art.

"Except for my interest in paper art, I also want to wake up people's green awareness," Yang said. "I want to promote such kind of paper art to more places in China and I wish more people will realize the importance of protecting the environment."
