Former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham is set to share her style secrets in a new book.

Described as a "revealing and practical" guide to "fashion, beauty and style", That Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between, will be published this autumn.

"I've always been a girls' girl and I know from experience that making the very best of yourself is something any woman can do," Beckham said.

"I was never the six-foot-tall pin-up ... I've always been the girl next-door who got lucky.

Beckham, also known as Posh from her Spice Girls days, is married to former England football captain David Beckham.

"I've come a long way in the last 10 years, but this book isn't my attempt to tell you what or what not to do," she said.

"It's just to share some of what I've learned."

It's not Posh's first foray into literature.

Back in 2001 she released an an autobiography, Learning to Fly, which was the No.3 best selling non-fiction title that year in the UK.

In 2005 she told a Spanish journalist "I haven't read a book in my life" but later explained that she meant to say she had never had time to read a book "cover to cover".

Last week it was revealed former Spice Girls manager Simon Fuller is developing a reality TV fashion series for Posh.

"It will be more serious than a reality show but will still be entertaining because Victoria is so funny," he told Broadcast magazine.
