Like a modern oasis within a metropolis, the Ramada Plaza Gateway Shanghai transports guests from the bustling streets of downtown Shanghai with a balance of amenities for those who need to unwind and relax.

Located in the city's commercial Xujiahui district, the flagship for Ramada in Shanghai is in the "central business district of central business districts", as its General Manager Michael Zhang describes. And stepping into the hotel lobby, decorated with a touch of Shanghai's Shikumen-style architecture, all outside noise and troubles are lost at the door.

"We want to minimize hassle and deliver to our guests a sense of tranquility after a hard day," Zhang says. "In the hustle and bustle of the city, people want to come 'home' to peace and quiet. "

The Ramada Plaza Gateway Shanghai has two towers with a total of 480 rooms. Guestrooms in one of the towers have kitchen amenities, including a sink and a stovetop range.

"The average business traveler is always on the road and knows exactly what they want - a comfortable bed, a powerful shower, a desk, free WiFi and an efficient room," Zhang says. "And the mini-kitchens just add a sense of 'home'."

The hotel is equipped to reduce outside noise to guarantee a good night's sleep. "Guests usually spend 60 percent of time their time in the hotel room in bed, which means a quiet environment is especially important."

It is normal for a five-star hotel to have a few restaurants, but the hotel's large teahouse adds a special touch. Decorated in green, Huizhou Tea House impresses guests with its calming atmosphere.

Inside the teahouse, guests are not only enveloped in the aroma of tea but also exposed to the beautiful melody of a live performance of the guqin, a seven-stringed ancient Chinese musical instrument.

"As the saying goes 'five thousand years of Chinese history can be reflected on one piece of tea leaf', and tea culture is the essence of Chinese culture," Zhang says. "Ranging from green teas, black teas to white teas, all the teas we have are directly imported from the famous Yellow Mountain." In addition to tea, a variety of snacks are also available.

Between home-like amenities in hotel rooms and tranquil dining options, the Ramada Plaza Gateway Shanghai will be a comfortable and relaxing retreat in the heart of Shanghai's business district.
