Lang Lang expands role as Sony ambassador

Young Chinese pianist Lang Lang has signed a long-term music and media agreement with Sony Music Entertainment, expanding his existing relationship with the group as its worldwide brand ambassador. He will work with Sony on new recordings involving cutting edge technologies, and on charity work.
His first album on Sony Classical will be a live recording of the pianist's upcoming recital at Vienna's Musikverein. The performance will also be available in high definition video in Blu-ray format.
On March 21, Lang will perform at the Carnegie Hall in a UNICEF benefit concert. His performance of Chopin's Polonaise in A-flat Major No 6 Op 53, also known as Heroic, will be released by Sony Classical as an iTunes download. It will commemorate all those involved in relief efforts in quake-hit Haiti. All proceeds from the recording and concert will go to UNICEF.
