Nan Yue Cantonese Cuisine Restaurant (南粤私房菜) is named after the style of its cuisine that comes from southern Guangdong province. The center of that area, Zhongshan city, prides itself as the hometown of revolutionary leader Sun Yat-sen (1866-1925).

In fact, one of Nan Yue's offerings is what it calls the "marshal's banquet". One special soup (四物汤) on the menu, made with golden needle mushroom, black fungus, bean curd, and bean sprout, is said to have been invented by Sun himself.

Another specialty is the crispy "dragon fish"(脆龙鱼), which, according to the restaurant, is caught in streams in the mountains, and prepared to give it a very unique, fresh and chewy texture.

Other dishes of note include Cantonese roast marinated goose (烧鹅), slightly sweet barbeque pork (叉烧), and brown-stewed Dongpo pork (红烧东坡肉). The restaurant also offers some Hakka foods such as brewed bean curd (酿豆腐), and boiled chicken in pork stomach (猪肚包鸡), a favorite of the Cantonese.

The restaurant also provides a business set lunch. It is currently offering 30 percent off on yum cha (a Cantonese term which literally means "drink tea") and afternoon tea. Average cost is 80 yuan per person.
