Heathrow flight delayed for cabin mouse

A jumbo jet carrying 300 passengers at New York's JFK airport was reportedly delayed after the pilot spotted a mouse in the cabin.

According to The Sun, the pilot refused to fly the plane to London's Heathrow for fear that the rodent may chew through wires essential to the safety of the craft.

Passenger Andy Picken of Gailey, Staffordshire said: "We thought it was a joke, but the captain said we all had to get off.

"It is amazing that something as small as a mouse disrupted a transatlantic jet."

Delta Airways described the delay before the mouse was caught as "standard procedure".

Earlier this month, a domestic flight in South Korea was delayed after a sparrow got on board via an open door.
