Woman climbs pole after fight with hubby

A woman climbed atop a roadside electric pole, threatening to end her life, after her husband refused to give her a penny of the amount he won from gambling in Xinzhou, Hubei province, last Thursday.

The woman was eventually convinced to climb down from the high-voltage electric pole after firefighters arrived on the scene and cut off electricity supply to the area.

She told police officers her husband had won over 20,000 yuan gambling the previous night and refused to share the amount with her.
