Renowned two-Michelin starred chef Claudio Sadler will be in Beijing to treat his guests to the finest Italian cuisine to April 2.

Assisted by executive chef Riccardo La Perna, Sadler has designed a special 6-course menu for the patrons of Sadler Ristorante, Italian restaurant located in Ch'ienmen 23, formerly known as the Legation Quarter.

A native of Milan, Sadler's food style comes from Franco Colombani's manifesto of traditional cuisine based on true and intense Italian flavors. He mixes modern ingredients and techniques for a fresh take on a creative cuisine.

Sadler is the author of several cookbooks, as well as a teacher at the State Hotel Institute in Milan, and co-founder of Jeunes Restauranteurs d'Europe, an organization that promotes young chefs of exceptional talent.

The six-course dinner will include foie gras terrine filled with smoked pumpkin, cuttlefish gnocchi, creamed risotto with mozzarella cheese, and poached skate with tomato sauce.

There will also be pigeon cooked two ways, with roasted breast fillet and mashed pigeon liver.

The dinner costs 900 yuan per person, wine pairing will cost 350 yuan, plus a 10% service charge.

The chef's arrival also coincides with the opening of La Terrazza, a shaded terrace overlooking the lawn, and a romantic courtyard shaded by century old trees.

To mark his arrival and opening of al fresco dining, a live band is arranged tonight from 10pm until midnight.
