Zhudi and Xiaohaizi lakes

As affiliates of Lugu Lake, Zhudi and Xiaohaizi Lakes are located at the joint of Lugu Lake, Lion Hill and Yongning Dam. In the past, those Mosuo people would go reap water chestnuts in Zhudi Lake which teems with fish and water chestnuts, to make, water chestnut powder or cakes. Those Mosuo people who live at the hillside beside the lake enjoy a piece of flat wide earth and a good place for vacation and relaxation.

Xiaohaizi, half a kilometer away from Zhudi Lake, has thickly grown weeds and reeds. It is an ideal fish farm for raising grass carp. With rich forage grass and suitable water temperature, half a kilogram of grass carp are raised in it every year, with tender and delicious flesh. In summer and autumn, the green grass flourishes like blankets along the lake, and wild flowers sway in the bright, beautiful wind. It is an ideal place for fishing and having picnics.
