The next significant climate change negotiation is fast approaching, with ministers and officials from 189 countries preparing to gather in Copenhagen this December, for COP15.

This conference will be crucial in addressing what has become the defining challenge of our time; where it is expected that an international climate change agreement to succeed the Kyoto Protocol will to be reached.

Recognizing the international importance of this event, the United Nations in collaboration with the China Carbon Forum will host the "Towards Copenhagen" workshop on Friday September 4th.

This workshop is designed specifically for university students, providing a forum through which university students and national/international experts can examine the key issues, positions and hurdles in the upcoming COP15.

Leading professionals from the Chinese government, United Nations, China Climate Forum and business community will participate, providing a unique opportunity for students to engage with these leading personal.

The workshop is free of charge, and is open to all university students studying in Beijing. The workshop will take place at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Office from 2:00pm-5:30pm Friday September 4th.

Spaces are limited, register early to avoid disappointment.
