As the provincial seat of Hebei province, Shijiazhuang practices policies of open coast areas and financial openness with approval of the State Council. Situated in the hinterlands of north China plains, Shijiazhuang is the south gate for the capital. Shijiazhuang is one of the production areas of grain, vegetables, meat, eggs and fruit in the country. A state-accredited production base of high-quality wheat, Shijiazhuang is usually called as the “northern granary.” In 2007, Shijiazhuang’s GDP totaled RMB 277 billion. The total population amounts to 9.395 million, with a per capita GDP of RMB 25,056.
石家庄市，河北省省会,是国务院批准实行沿海开放政策和金融对外开放的城市。石家庄市地处华北平原腹地是首都的南大门。石家庄市是全国粮、菜、肉、蛋、果主产区之一，被国家确定为优质小麦生产基地，素有“北方粮仓”之称。2008年石家庄地区生产总值2770亿元，常住人口939.5万，人均生产总值25056元。
Shijiazhuang is an important commercial port and commercial and trade center in north China, as well as an excellent tourism city in the country as a whole. The city is home to 10 large-scale marketplaces with a total annual turnover more than RMB 1billion Yuan. The Nansantiao Fair Center and Xinhua Fair Center are among the top 10 marketplaces in the country. With commodities reaching to more than 20 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions, Shijiazhuang is the important commodity distribution center for North China, Northeast China and Southwest China.
石家庄市是华北重要商埠和商贸中心，也是全国优秀旅游城市。全市拥有年成交额超10亿元的大型市场10个，南三条、新华集贸中心连续多年跻身于全国十大集贸市场，商品辐射全国20多个省、市、自治区，是华北、东北、西北地区重要的商品集散地。
