Henan province is briefly named Yu, with Zhengzhou as its provincial seat. Henan’s economy has witnessed rapid development in recently years, with its industrial restructuring showing progress. The Henan’s industry has advantages in both resources and processing, with machinery, electronics, chemical industry, foodstuff, light industry and textile, building material etc. as its pillar industries and many countrywide well-known enterprises within its portfolio. Henan is the major agricultural region of China, with the output of wheat and sesame ranking the first in the country and rice, maize and tobacco as the main crops.

In 2010, Henan’s GDP is expected to surpass 2.2 trillion yuan.

河南省，简称豫，省会城市郑州。经济近年获得迅速发展，产业结构调整取得进步。工业具有资源和加工双重优势，机械、电子、化工、食品、轻纺、建材等是主要支柱产业，拥有众多全国知名企业。河南省是中国主要农业区，小麦、芝麻产量居全国首位，水稻、玉米、烟草等是主要作物。
