Dean McDermott 'healing slowly'

Dean McDermott is "healing slowly" following his motorcycle accident.

The reality TV star - who is married to Tori Spelling - was hospitalised last week with a punctured lung after the crash but he is now out of intensive care and is starting to feel better.

Dean tweeted on Sunday (04.07.10) - which is American Independence Day - to his followers: "Happy 4th everyone!!! Feeling better today... I'm healing, slowly. I'll be doing rehab for a while. I messed a few things up when I crashed."

Dean - who was moved out of intensive care on Friday (02.07.10) - has been revealing details of his treatment and condition to his concerned twitter followers since the accident.

He wrote: "I ended up smashing my chest into my bars as I went over the front of the bike... It was a freak accident. We still can't figure out what happened... (I have) 3 stitches in my right butt cheek where a stone got imbedded. Let's just say, I won't be dirt biking anymore...

"I had the worst night (03.07.10). Catheter cut me up coming out. Unbelievable pain. I got a fever of 104 and was throwing up. Fun, WOW!!! (sic)"

Dean - who has two children, son Liam, three, and daughter Stella, two, with his '90210' actress wife - had been out dirt biking with two friends on Tuesday (29.06.10) when he crashed.

The 43-year-old thrill seeker was left bleeding heavily from a wound on his right side at the scene and couldn't move.

Tori, 37, now wants her husband to give up biking for the sake of his health and family.

She said: "He's taking this as a sign and realises his family is too important to risk his life.

"When I first saw him he just softly said, 'I'm so sorry.' I just held his hand and cried. That's when he said, 'I'll never do this again. You and the kids mean everything to me.' "
