Having loved reading Treasure Island as a child, a book I still reread every few years, I figured I should give Treasure Trove a chance to prove itself. And prove itself it did in a most impressive way.
Although I am not particularly impressed by the storytelling or illustrations, which are fine but nothing exceptional, I am, however, impressed with the fact that there is an actual treasure to be found!! How I would have loved that to be the case with Stevenson's Treasure Island!! Which, needless to say, provides a lot of excitement--not just for the reader but for family and friends as well. The later provides an excellent reason to work together as a team, always a good thing when dealing with family and friends, and try to locate that treasure! For this alone I'd recommend picking up Treasure Trove.
