A sex culture museum opened to the public recently in Chenggu County of northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

On display at the museum are pictures featuring sex culture and documents on hot issues regarding the morals of sex. There are also a dozen cultural relics featuring ancient Chinese sex toys.

The museum features six exhibition areas under eight themes, including "traditional sex custom", "overseas sex culture", "sexuality in China from ancient to modern" and the "phallus in Asia and Europe".

The museum will provide visitors information and knowledge on sexual health to help them prevent sexually transmitted diseases.

The sex culture museum, believed to be the first in northwest region of the country, was established by a local research center on sex culture under the Shaanxi Hanzhong Folk Artists Association.
