Sony camera checked with quality proplem (Xinhua) Updated: 2005-12-13 16:39
Six types of Sony digital camera are spotchecked unqualified in such spheres
as lmaging quality and automatic exposure effect, and have recently been taken
off counter in east China's Zhejiang province.
The Zhejiang provincial industrial and commercial bureau has made the
announcement, saying that the bureau has started formal investigation into these
substandard Sony cameras.
A total of 30 production batches were involved with the six reported types of
Sony cameras, namely the Sony DSC-H1, DSC-L1, DSC-P200, DSC-W7, DSC-W5 and
DSC-S90.
The bureau said the types of Sony DSC-H1 and DSC-L1, produced in Sony's
Shanghai branch, were found with problems in imaging balance, white balance,
automatic exposure and the brightness of LCD screen.
The four other types, made in Wuxi branch, were also found substandard with
the imaging balance and automatic exposure.
The bureau has launched a provincial spotcheck on six brands' 34 types of
digital cameras in the market, with 13 types founded unqualified, or 38 percent
of the total.
