Kwan-Yin statue 'enlightened' in Hainan

An enlightenment ritual was held for the 108-meter-high Nanhai Kwan-Yin Statue by 108 monks in Sanya, the southmost city of  China's Hainan Province, on April 24, 2005. The statue which costs 800 million yuan is reportedly the world's largest Kwan-Yin statue.
