Young woman earns fans singing online
Sina.com, one of China's most popular web portals, hosted an online concert Feb. 27, the first of its kind. The concert attracted more than 2,000 online audience members to appreciate the self-composed songs of a young woman singer, an Internet user nicknamed Rabbit, Friday's Beijing Daily Messenger reported. The on-line concert, equipped with a host, interactive games and the interview with the singer, offered the audience not only the music, but a vivid screen show. "We opened six simulated rooms in our website for the online audience, which weren't enough," the paper quoted Peng Cheng, an IT expert with sina.com, as saying. "I kept receiving requests to attend from Internet users." Rabbit said she began by pinning her songs to an Internet music forum. When they proved popular, she created a forum of her own. After attracting a lot of fans, she decided to hold the online concert. "The concert is incredible, our advanced net chatting technologies enable the music effects resembling mp3," Peng told the paper. "I am proud of my voice, which has helped to earn so many fans, and I like the interactive atmosphere of the Internet," Rabbit was quoted as saying. Rabbit's songs have become very hot on the Internet since the concert, and more people have started to try the on-line concert ever since, the newspaper said.
