No big breakouts of infectious diseases in 2004 (CRI) Updated: 2005-02-19 09:53 China saw no serious breakouts of infectious
diseases last year.
A report released by the Ministry of Health Friday
says only limited cases of measles, hemorrhagic fever, dengue fever and
influenza were found.
The report claims that tuberculosis, hepatitis B,
dysentery, gonorrhea and hepatitis A were the top five most common infectious
diseases in 2004, accounting for 85 percent of the total cases.
Infectious diseases in China are classified into three categories and 37
types by the country's newly-revised law on prevention and control of
communicable diseases.
