Bodies piled on coasts as tsunami kills 24,000 (Agencies) Updated: 2004-12-28 01:52
An Indian woman mourns the death of her
relatives (covered in white sheets), who were killed when a tsunami hit on
Sunday, at a burial ground in Cuddalore, 112 miles south of the southern
Indian city of Madras December 27, 2004. Typhoid, diarrhea and hepatitis
epidemics now pose the gravest threat to the tens of thousands who
survived a devastating tsunami that tore across the Indian Ocean,
international relief agencies said.
