Books published to mark Deng's 100th birth day

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Publishing House issued several of new books about Deng Xiaoping (1904-1997) recently, to mark the 100th anniversary of his birth.

These books include "Deng Xiaoping's Great Strategy," "100 Events Pertaining to Deng Xiaoping over the Past 100 Years," "Untold Stories of Deng Xiaoping" and "Ten Adventures of Deng Xiaoping."

Deng is regarded as the core of the second generation leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the chief architect of the continuing reforms, opening to the outside world and modernization drive in the country since the late 1970s.

Deng's last position was the chairman of the Chinese Central Military Commission.
