Thessaloniki: Olympic Arrangements

In Thessaloniki, the Municipality, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chamber of Traders, the Trade Association, the Service Station Owners Association, and the City Public Transport Organisation have drawn up a joint plan for Olympic operations in the city to ensure that:

The football tournament runs flawlessly

Visitors have the best possible experience of the city

The city is promoted abroad.

Special Arrangements

The bodies involved have agreed that the best way of attaining their aim will be to implement certain measures on tournament days.

These measures comprise special traffic arrangements for key urban areas, and changes in the city cleaning programme, and in shopping and provisioning hours.

Public Transport will run to normal schedule, but ATHENS 2004 and the Thessaloniki Public Transport Organisation will also run extra bus services, for spectators and staff, to the Kaftanzoglio Stadium.
