Updated: 2004-05-24 10:08

Jack Welch, the legendary former chief executive of General Electric (GE), will visit China and meet Chinese entrepreneurs and some leading real estate developers.

Meetings will be held in Beijing and Shanghai. Topics will include strategic management in an uncertain environment and how to develop business successors.

The sessions will be hosted by China Entrepreneur, the 21st Economic Herald and Beijing Hantian Consultant Co Ltd.

Between 1981 and 2002, when he retired, Welch was instrumental in transforming GE into the world's second-largest company. He also helped increase GE's market capitalization from US$15 billion to US$480 billion.
