China produced 1.30 million automobiles during the first three months this year, 1.28 million of which have been sold, up 25.63 percent and 28.98 percent respectively from the same period last year.

The statistics released by the China Automotive Industry Association also show that the country produced 576,900 sedan cars and 567,000 of them were sold out during the first quarter this year, up 41.86 percent and 44.47 percent respectively from the same period last year.

A source from the China Automotive Industry Association said with the constant optimization of automotive industry structure, the proportion of China-made sedan cars to all China-made automobiles has reached 45 percent in China, but the figures in those major automobile-producing countries were as high as around 70 percent. There is still a gap between China's automobile production and that of automotive giants.
