Landslide kills 4 farmers in northwest China

Dead bodies of the four farmers who were buried 10 meters deep from the ground due to a landslide in northwest China's Shaanxi Province were found on Saturday.

According to local sources, the landslide happened around 1:00 p.m Friday when five farmers from Majuangou Village of Hengshan County were building a reservoir dam. Only one of them escaped the mishap.

Fellow villagers walked 30 km of the mountainous road to report to the township government. A rescue team consisting of over 600 people rushed to the site of the accident to search for the buried.

The dead bodies of the villagers were found around 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, said the sources.
