HK police investigates subway arson

The Hong Kong police said Monday they are searching for a suspect who was related with an arson attack that occurred in a Hong Kong subway train Monday morning in which 14 people were injured.

The police said they are looking for a man aged around 50, carrying a trolley and a plastic bag, during the time of the incident.

The police seized quantities of suspected thinner and gas cylinders at the scene. The motive of the attack is still under active investigations.

The police said they received reports that a fire broke out inside the first compartment of a Central-bound train when it arrived at Admiralty station at 9"The fire was put out by the subway staff in less than 10 minutes. A total of 14 passengers, comprising a man, 12 women and a girl, aged between two and 54, suffered minor injuries during the incident.

They had all been sent to a nearby hospital and were all discharged after medical treatment.
