A senior villager casts his vote during a recall election of the acting head of Zhejiang Village on Wednesday in East China's Zhejiang Province. More than half of the village residents voted down Cai Jishuan's performance, as Cai allegedly sought personal gain by taking advantage of his position. The acting head was then dismissed from his post according to the Organic Law of Villagers' Committees of the People's Republic of China. It is the first time that a village head has been recalled by local residents in Wenling of Zhejiang Province. [newsphoto.com.cn]
