Northeast Asia Forum launches book of commonly used Chinese characters

He also said that the South Korean government attached great importance to such matters of culture. The organizing committee of the forum invited 808 Korean calligraphers to write one character each from the 808 commonly used Chinese characters.

Japan's former Minister of Education, Science, Sports and Culture Atsuko Toyama said the release of the book is a milestone. The three countries should see it as a starting point in promoting developments in all areas in the coming decade.
